Vice President Membership (VPM)
The vice president of membership is responsible for maintaining a strong membership base for the club. The VPM is the third-ranking officer on the executive team and presides over meetings in the absence of the president and VPE. In general, the VPM does each of the following:
Greet guests & answer questions
The VPM explains the Toastmaster educational program to guests. The club maintains a guest log which the VPM uses to send a follow-up note to guests who visit the club. When a guest decides to join, the VPM will ensure that they are properly voted in and assigned a mentor.
Prepare membership packets
When guests attend a meeting with Notable Northgaters, they are presented with a small packet of informational material. The VPM is responsible for ensuring that these packets are up-to-date and in plentiful supply.
Hold membership drives
In many clubs, it is tradition for the VPM to hold membership drives. Historically, the Notable Northgaters’s website attracts enough new members so that membership drives are not needed.
