Opener

The Opener gives a short talk of one minute or less (30-60 seconds), on a topic related to the theme or anything else of interest. This brief introduction should be approximately one or two short paragraphs and would take up less than 1/3 of a written or typed page. There are no instructions in the manual for this role. “By preparing for the opener and doing it without reading, we improve our own public speaking skills and we help our Club have better meetings,” Gabriela Remow, ATM-B (Dec. 2000).
