Club President James is on vacation, and (past and) assigned Acting President Melissa is stuck in traffic, and so Acting President (and Division Governor) Michelle called the meeting to order.

We have 3 guests, two of whom are current toastmasters.

Our only speaker this evening was Omar Rivas, doing a practice speech for the contest. This is also a bit different in that there will be 3 evaluators – one for Content, one for Delivery, and one for Language. We will also do a Round Robin evaluation.

Omar’s speech was about Sundays – and what it meant to him as he was growing up.

Our Table Topic Master was also held up in traffic, and so Fred volunteered to be an impromptu TT Master. He did what for him is somewhat normal – use the Word of the Day and another random word or phrase in answer to a question. He spiced it up with a “debate” between Karin and guest Alice. All of our guests, including the Current District Table Topics Champion – Omar, all participated.

Barney led an unusual Evaluation Team – we had 3 evaluators, as noted above. Scott, Fred, and Richard all evaluated aspects of Omar’s speech. Almost everyone had a comment during the round Robin section. Barney discussed how the meeting as a whole went.

Toast of the Day went to Michelle for filling all the roles as she did – most of it on the fly.

Melissa A gave her Opener Statement at the meeting end – a short history of backyard Bar-B-Cue.
