An excellent meeting!

Toastmaster Julie had some great comments on the theme of “Summer Blockbuster”. Opener Michelle tied the blockbuster to a less well known, but absolutely outstanding movie – IMAX’s “Hubble” (it’s at the Pacific Science Center, and really worth seeing!)

Two very good speeches, the first by new member Bill, giving his Ice Breaker. Bill recounted a timeline of his life, and he’s definitely covered a lot of ground. His speech title, “New Beginnings”, was carried thru several times, from changing carriers to changing spouses.

Barney gave his 10th CC speech, Inspire Your Audience, by showing how we, as humans, exhibit a lot of behaviors that we associate with the animal kingdom. I had never heard of “Flocking”, but it certainly fits.

Karin as table Topics Mistress, had people playing their inner Siskel and Ebert, and reviewing some movies that have had “blockbuster” status.

James led an experienced Evaluation Team, with Richard evaluating Bill, and Steve evaluating Barney.

Toast of the Day went to Bill for an excellent Ice Breaker

Best Evaluator went to Richard

Best Table Topics went to Scott

Most Improved speaker went to Barney.

• Steve opened a new Office for his Acupuncture practice, this Saturday.
• Barney earned his CC!
